L. Allen Dies After Long Illness Mrs. Lottie Mae Allen, 83, of Winnfield, died Saturday, December 14, 1974 in a Winnfield hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist Church of Winnfield with the Rev. Calvin Phelps officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Survivors include two brothers, Graydon Thompson of Shreveport and Parker Thompson of Winnfield; two sisters, Mrs. Helene Milam of Winnfield and Mrs. Esther Hudson of Shreveport; and four grandchildren. Mrs. Allen was the widow of the late A. Leonard Allen, late congressman from the 8th Judicial District from 1936 to 1952. She was the mother of the late District Judge Harwell Allen of the 8th District from 1954 to 1973 and the late Lyndon B. Allen, a prominent Shreveport attorney. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Pallbearers included Jimmy Walker, Mike Milam, Puckett Willis, Dr. J. R. McElwee, Douglas Peterson, Frank Bruce, Jr., Latnie Brewton, Sr., and Cravon Herring.
