Allen, 45 year old Winn native who was killed in an auto accident in Baton Rouge Thursday, May 8. Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Allen of Route 2, Winnfield, was instantly killed when he lost control of his auto and was hit by a truck. He was a construction equipment operator and had only recently returned to work after a serious accident on his job. Services were at Hixson Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Smith officiating. Burial was in Allen Cemetery. Mr. Allen was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Winn Parish. He had been a resident of Baton Rouge about a year, after living in Lake Charles for a number of years. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Eloise Brister Allen; three children, John Allen of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Helen Miller of Monroe, and Mrs. Sue Anderson of Lake Charles; one sister, Mrs. Hazel Yelverton of Shreveport; five brothers, C. W. Allen of Hitchcock, Texas, Melvin Allen and Ardell Allen of Roswell, N. M., Dalton Allen of Winnfield, and Bobby Ray Allen of Shreveport.
