Allen, 51, Succumbs; Burial Saturday Jerome Walter Allen, 51, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 1966 in a Winnfield hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Methodist Church of Winnfield with the Rev. George Ross and Rev. Robert Gage officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home. Allen, a businessman, was a native of Winnfield and a member of the First Methodist Church. He had served for a time as deputy assessor of Winn Parish under his father, Walter W. Allen, assessor of Winn Parish for 28 years. His mother was the late Mrs. Lula Perkins Allen. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Louise Radescich Allen of Winnfield; two daughters, Mrs. Don Chandler of Lake Charles and Denise Allen of Winnfield; a brother, W. Warren Allen of Winnfield; a sister, Mrs. J. C. Breaux of Baton Rouge; his father, Walter W. Allen of Winnfield. Pallbearers were Richard Heard, Robert Lee Dunn, Tommy Taylor, Judge Harwell Allen, Wallace Ingles, Latnie Brewton, Sr., Frank Shaw, and Ray Jenkins.
