Funeral services will be 2PM, Wednesday, May 27, 2004 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Winnfield with Father Richard Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the New Jerusalem Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Friends may visit in the funeral home Wednesday, May 26 from 5PM until 9PM and on Thursday May 27, from 8AM until 12Noon. Friends may also visit at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Thursday, May 27, from 1PM until time of services. Mr. Alsup is preceded in death by a daughter Alice Cindy Guin of Winnfield. Survivors include: His Wife: Mrs. Alice P. Alsup of Winnfield; Three sons: Chuck Alsup and wife Jan of Winnfield, Paul Alsup and wife Jill of Winnfield, Phil Alsup of Winnfield; One Daughter Vonette Alsup Britt of Winnfield. Nine Grandchildren: Chelsea Findley and husband Steve of Gatesville, TX, Lacey Alsup of Ruston, Daniel P Alsup and wife Cynthia of Winnfield, Rachel Roberts and husband Josh of Winnfield, Chuck Maxwell & fiancee Rachel Morgan of Winnfield, Charlotte, Vonessa & Devona Alsup all of Cold Spring, TX, Aimee Skilgen and husband John of Savannah, GA; Three Great Grandchildren: Bethany Findley, Chloe & Robbie Skilgen. One Sister-in-law: Martha Ward & daughter Tammy of Conway, AR and several nieces & nephews. Mr. Alsup was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Winnfield. He was a former florist & mortician with Mulhearn Funeral Homes in North Louisiana and various funeral houmes in Arkansas. He retired from Rock Island Rail Road and was a former employee of Manville Forest Products. Mr. Alsup was also a former deputy with the Winn Parish Sheriff's Auxiliary. He also enjoyed full time farming and gardening. Pallbearers will be: Chuck Maxwell, Daniel Alsup, Mike Moore, James Turner, Doug Wells, Josh Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be the Winn Parish Sheriff's Auxiliary Dupties. The family request that all planned memorials be made to the Alzheimers's Association at 225 N.
