All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: August 30, 1956 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Mrs. Frank Shaw Succumbs; Buried Sept. 4, Winnfield Funeral services for Mrs. Allie Mae Neal Shaw, 72, of Winnfield, who died in a local hospital Monday, were held at 4 p.m. at the First Methodist Church Tuesday, Sept. 4. The Re. L. L. Booth, pastor, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Clyde Shaw of Alexandria. Burial was in Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were John Peters, Jr., John G. Jackson, Dennis Shell, Kelly Peterson, Sam Brian, and Ray Jenkins. Born February 4, 1884, near Winnfield, Mrs. Shaw spent her entire life in the parish. She was the widow of the late Frank Shaw, Sr., pioneer merchant and Winn Parish Sheriff from 1904-1912, and who was also the first marshal of Winnfield. Mrs. Shaw, a member of the First Methodist Church, was active in the Missionary Society and all church work. The deceased is survived by two sons, Frank Shaw, Jr., Winnfield, and Robert Shaw of New Orleans; two grandchildren; one stepson, J. E. Shaw of Vallejo, Calif; one stepdaughter, Mrs. W. T. McElroy of Shreveport. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Blanche McGinty, Winnfield, and Mrs. J. W. Gunn, Wheeling; five brothers, W. E. Neal, F. J. Neal, and J. M. Neal, all of Rt. 1, Montgomery, C. O. Neal, Winnfield, and J. T. Neal, Ferriday.
