He had been in ill health for the past year. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Calvin Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jewel Canerday officiating. Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Acting as plallbearers were Everett Thurmond, Buddy Canerday, Clifford Carpenter, James Martin, W. E. Carpenter, and Larry Carpenter. A native of Winn Parish, Mr. Anderson was widely known, having been foreman on highway construction jobs most of his life. He was a member of the Calvin Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Bice Anderson; three sons, Phillip, Jerry, and Pete, all of Calvin; four daughters, Minnie Alice and Beverly, of Calvin, Mrs. W. C. Colvin of Kilgore, Texas, and Mrs. M. R. Crosby of Grosse Tette, La.; his father, H. E. Anderson, Calvin; two brothers, Lloyd of Monroe and George of Orange, Texas; one sister, Mrs. E. C. Goetzman of Picayune, Miss., and four grandchildren.
