Earl Applewhite

Services for Earl Applewhite, 78, were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in First
Presbyterian Church with the Rev. W. R. Gage officiating.

Burial was in the Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Southern
Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mr. Applewhite died Sunday, June 10, 1979 in his home after a long illness.

He was an elder and trustee of First Presbyterian Church, a pharmacist, and he
managed the Winnfield Utility Department many years.  He was a member of 
Eastern Star Lodge No. 151, F. & A. M., a member of Palestine Chapter, Order
of Eastern Star, and a 32nd Mason and Shriner.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Applewhite of Winnfield; a sister,
Mrs. Mary Farris of Brookhaven, Miss.; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Edward Powell, E. J. Buchanan, Will Radescich, Jack Gaar,
Edwin McIntyre, Gordon Stewart, Dan Bowker, and Dick Watts.
