Ates Of Montgomery, Rt. 1 Mrs. Lessie Edith Ates, age 48, died at the family residence, Montgomery, La., Route 1, at 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 1942. She was the sister of Mrs. Lucille Dyess, teacher in the Winnfield school. Surviving are her husband, Sam C. Ates; eight sons, David L. Ates, Pineville; Willard M., Nat Francis, Sam J., Clarence G., and Luke N. Ates, all of Verda, La., and Warren R. and Gerald R. Ates; three daughters, Mrs. Lollie Mae Jones of Vinton, La., and Misses Elnora and Lougenia Ates of Verda; three brothers, Gary, Warren, and Matthew Fletcher; four sisters, Mrs. Nelson Pollard of Dry Prong, Mrs. Lucille Dyess, Winnfield, Mrs. Leon Wyatt, St. Maurice, and Mrs. Gus Hadnott, Colfax, and three grandchildren.
