Mother Of Local Resident Dies In Jena

Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Austin, 88, of Jena, were held at 2 p.m. Monday
at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Jena with the Revs. Dave Goodman,
Max Billings, and G. R. Nolan officiating.

Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pollock.

Mrs. Austin died Sunday, September 12, 1976 at LaSalle General Hospital in
Jena after a lengthy illness.

Survivors include her husband, Jeff Austin of Jena; one son, Curtis Austin of
Denham Springs; three daughters, Mrs. Nellie Doherty of Winnfield, Mrs. Helen
Mitchell of Jena, and Mrs. Gladys Cattaneo of Alexandria; one brother,
Augusta Rugh of Missouri; one sister, Mrs. Cora Roberts of Pollock; six
grandchildren; four great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
