Mrs. Lois Avant Dies Thursday In Shreveport

Mrs. Lois B. Avant, 74, of Route 1, Atlanta, died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday in a
Shreveport nursing home.  She was a native of Atlanta and a member of Iatt
Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, J. C. Avant and J. M. Avant of Shreveport, and
Lynn Avant of Joyce; five daughters, Mrs. Little Thomas of Arlington, _______,
and Mrs. Katherine Davis of Fort Worth, Texas, Ms. Velma Gregory of San
__________, _______________ LeBaron of Shrevepor; four brothers, Allen Brady
and Roy Brady of Verda, Levell Brady of Gibsland, and Alon Brady of Winnfield;
16 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday in Iatt Baptist Church with Rev.
Gerald Paige and Rev. Deloy Shows officiating.  Burial was in Iatt Cemetery
under direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield.
