Brother of Winn Woman Is Killed In Olla Saturday

Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Lay of Jordan Hill attended the funeral of Mrs. Lay's
brother, Earl Avery, in Olla Sunday afternoon.

Avery was killed Saturday morning when shot through the heart with a .22
caliber rifle, in Olla.  He is survived by his wife and six small children, of
Olla; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oram Avery of Urania; one brother, Lawrence
Avery of Olla; and his sister, Mrs. Marshall lay of Jordan Hill.

Funeral services were held at Pine Hill Baptist Church near Olla.

Chester Boyett of Olla is being held in LaSalle Parish jail under
investigation for the shooting of Avery.
