Bice Of Calvin Succumbs; Buried At Couley Funeral services for Arnold J. Bice, 65, of Calvin were held at 2 p.m. December 24, in Calvin Baptist Church with Rev. T. F. Williams and Mr. Ralph Gurganus officiating. Burial was in Couley Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mr. Bice, a U.S. Forestry worker, died Sunday night in a Shreveport hospital after two week's illness. He was a lifelong resident of Calvin. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Myrtle Smith Bice, Postmistress at Calvin; one son, Jack Bice of Bossier City; three daughters, Mrs. George Junkin of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Robert Smith of Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Kenneth Blake of El Cajon, Calif.; a brother, Conley Bice of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Anderson of Calvin; and eight grandchildren. Acting as pallbearers were Larry Carpenter, Austin Carpenter, Eddie Martin, Wesley Carter, and Ebb Sanders.
