Bagwell Of Calvin, Jan. 1 Mrs. Lula Frazier Bagwell died at 15 minutes after 7 o'clock in the morning January 1, 1950 in the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Annie Mae Leonard, in Calvin. Mrs. Bagwell had been an invalid for two years. She would have been 78 years old on March 10 having been born in Arkansas on March 10, 1872, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isiah Frazier. When she was a very small child, her parents traveled from Arkansas to Lincoln Parish in an ox wagon and remained there until she grew up and married M. H. Bagwell, also of Lincoln Parish. Mr. and Mrs. Bagwell remained in Lincoln Parish until after the birth of their oldest child, Mrs. Ollie Lisenbia, who faithfully attended her mother during the two years of her illness. They then moved to Winn Parish where nine other children were born into their home, seven who are still living. They are Mrs. Ollie Lisenbia, Mrs. Lillie Canerday, Mrs. Eula Carter, Brady Bagwell, Pat Bagwell, all of Calvin; Mr. Clarence Bagwell of Ward 10, and Clyde Bagwell of Los Angeles, Calif. She also has a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. All of the children were present at the funeral except Clyde Bagwell of Los Angeles, who was unable to come because of the death of his wife's father, whose funeral was being held on the same day as his mother's in Calif. Mrs. Bagwell was a member of the Calvin Baptist Church and interment was in the Bethlehem Cemetery. The funeral services were held in the Bethlehem Church with Rev. D. W. McDaniel in charge. Services at the grave side were in charge of Rev. H. J. Mott of Laurel Heights. Rev. F. M. York of Calvin and Rev. C. M. Robinson of Winnfield assisted in the services and the Laurel Heights Baptist Church conducted the song service. Mr. M. H. Bagwell, husband of the deceased, preceded her in death nine years ago. They had lived in this parish over 50 years and were well known throughout the parish.
