Bain Services for Marvin C. "Shorty" Bain, 62, of Dodson, were at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Southern with the Revs. Richard Byrd, Loy Gaar, and Robert Leach officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery near Dodson. He died at 4 ___ p.m. Thursday, December 23, 1982 in Lincoln General Hospital, Ruston. He was a native of Ida, a veteran of World War II, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the Church of Christ and was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 151 F & AM where he was a Master Mason. He was a retired barber. Survivors include his wife, Lois J. Bain, Dodson; one son, Cal Bain, Dodson; one daughter, Beth Terral, Dodson; two brothers, James H. Bain of Vivian and L. E. Bain of Ida; two sisters, Vista Loyd of Hosston, and Justine McCumsey of Baton Rouge; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Don Leach, Richard Broomfield, Conrad Broomfield, Wallace Murphy, Wayne Roberts, and Louis Howell.
