Bailey Victim of Auto Accident Near Opelousas Car Collided With Wagon. Bailey's Throat Cut By Glass Houston Bailey, Rock Island section foreman of Winnfield division, was fatally wounded in an automobile accident which occurred nine miles north of Opelousas Monday night at 8 o'clock. Mr. Bailey, together with Paul Lister and another man whose name could not be learned, were enroute from Opelousas to Winnfield when the driver of the car became blinded by the lights of another car and swerved to one side of the road, crashing into a wagon. The car turned over twice. Mr. Bailey was hurled through a window and his throat cut by flying glass. The injured man was hurried to an Opelousas hospital where he died at midnight. Mr. Lister was slightly injured but left the hospital after first aid treatment. Mr. Bailey is survived by his widow, also a mother and three brothers. The body was taken to Poyen, Ark., Wednesday morning where funeral services were conducted that afternoon.
