All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: December 15, 1927 Winn Parish Enterprise Funeral Services For John Baker Held Here Last Saturday Funeral services for Mr. John Baker, who died in Quitman, Miss., Friday morning, December 9, was held here Saturday afternoon from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Carroway. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery, Rev. P. M. Caraway, former pastor of the First Methodist Church, had charge of the services. Mr. Baker was born in Missouri and was 64 years of old. He was a resident of Atlanta, La., for twenty-two years and was on a visit to his son, H. O. Baker, of Quitman, Miss., when he died from a stroke of paralysis. He was always kind and patient and was loved by everyone who knew him. The body was brought to Winnfield Friday afternoon. A large concourse of relatives and friends from Atlanta and other places attended the services. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Tom Plunkett, of Atlanta, and one son, H. O. Baker of Quitman, Miss., and a number of grandchildren.
