W. Bailey, Dies Funeral Services Held At Sardis Wednesday; The Rev. Kitchingham Officiated Bryant Bailey, of Natchitoches, nephew of B. W. Bailey of Winnfield, died in a Natchitoches sanitarium Tuesday, following an illness of two weeks. Funeral services were held by the Rev. Kitchingham Wednesday morning at the Sardis Cemetery, where the burial took place. Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna Bailey, who was Miss Edna Guin of Winnfield, and four children, Mildred, 14, Charles 12, Robert, 8, and Catherine, 3. He was a native of Winn Parish having lived in the parish until a few years ago. He was 35 years old born on July 12, 1894. His father was Berien Bailey, who lived in Winnfield a number of years. Mr. Bailey joined the Baptist Church at the age of 12 years. He lived a true Christian life from childhood days. Among the out of town relatives who attended the funeral were Miss Marie Bailey of Alexandria, and Miss Ella Bailey of Natchitoches, his sisters; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Guin, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hemphill of Zion; Mrs. Edna Womack of Campti, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Long and Mrs. Lonnie Long of Corinth, and Mrs. E. M. Plunkett of Cotton Valley, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Long and family of Tannehill, Mr. and Mrs. Criss Bailey of Natchitoches and Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Bailey and Mrs. L. Rickerson of Winnfield. Others from Winnfield attending were J. E. Carter, J. A. Nugent, Mack L. Branch, and C. C. McGinty.
