Funeral Rites For Bud Barton At Sardis Church

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Sardis Baptist Church for Bud
Barton, 89, Atlanta, who died early Thursday, October 17, 1974 in a local
hospital after a lengthy illness.

Officiating was the Rev. E. B. Barton.  Burial was in the Sardis community
under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Mr. Barton was a logger and a farmer.

Survivors include three sons, Wilmer Barton, Leroy Barton, and Blanchard
Barton, all of Atlanta; three daughters, Mrs. Jewel Terrel and Mrs. Willie D.
Folden, both of Winnfield, Mrs. Nettie Hanson of Atlanta; one brother, Mack
Barton of Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Ollie Terrel of Bastrop, Mrs. Rosa
Coburn of Shreveport, and Mrs. Lena Shumake of Winnfield; 28 grandchildren,
and a number of great grandchildren.
