A. Barber, 66, Conducted July 2 Funeral services for William A. Barber, 66, of Winnfield, Rt. 2, were held at the Guin Cemetery near the old Curry School at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon, July 2, with the Rev. William Baggett, Methodist minister, and Rev. C. M. Robinson, officiating. Burial was in Guin Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mr. Barber, resident of Winn Parish for many years, died at a local hospital Friday, July 1, after an illness of several months. A member of the Lewis Chapel Methodist Church, Mr. Barber had made his home 15 miles east of Winnfield for many years. His wife preceded him in death about one year ago. Surviving are two sons, J. T. and Elvin Barber of Winnfield, Route 2; and four daughters, Mrs. Mertis Bartley and Mrs. Bertie Green of Winnfield; Mrs. Berntie Duke of Kelly, La., and Mrs. Lizzie Catherine O'Neal of Mobile, Ala.
