L. Barton, 33, Funeral June 5

LaVaughan Barton, 33, son of Mrs. Jessie Barton of Dodson and a native of the
Atlanta Community, died in a fire at his residence at 4 a.m. Sunday in the
State of Washington where he was employed at a sawmill.  No details of the
accident were available to this newspaper.

The remains were returned to Winnfield Wednesday morning and last rites will
be conducted at Sardis Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday, with Rev. Ray Teal,
pastor of the Atlanta Baptist Church officiating.  Burial will be in the Brown
Cemetery near Sardis.

Surviving are his mother, a son and daughter; two brothers, Norman Barton of
Winnfield and Larry Barton, Jr., of Dodson; and a sister, Mrs. Albert Flurry
of Dodson.

He also leaves a half brother, Lawrence E. Keith of Tinity, Texas and a half
sister, Mrs. B. R. Hill of Dodson.
