Otis Davison, Rev. Paul Lawson, and Rev. Virgil McManus officiating. Burial was in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery (Mt. Zion), Winn Parish, under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mr. Barnes died Saturday in a Pineville hospital following a long illness. He was well known in Winn Parish where he operated the Winnfield Fish Market for many years. Survivors are three sons, Melvin Barnes of Shreveport, Arvil Barnes of Montgomery, and Leonard Barnes with the U. S. Army in France; one daughter, Mrs. James Prather of Montgomery; one brother, Thomas Barnes of Natchitoches; and 13 grandchildren.
