Last Rites Held For R. Barnett, Montgomery, Rt. 2

Funeral services for Ruben O. Barnett, 71, of Montgomery, Rt. 2, were held at
St. Maurice at 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, with Rev. Brown and Rev. Atkins of
Montgomery, officiating.  Burial was in the St. Maurice Cemetery under
direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Mr. Barnett died at a Pineville hospital on Monday, October 6, after an
illness of three months.  He had been in ill health for some time.  He was a
farmer by trade and was a member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Barnett; one son, Burgess Barnett of
Shreveport; one daughter, Mrs. Nather Allen of Bossier City; two brothers,
Harrison Barnett of Shreveport and Woodard Barnett of Baker, Texas; one
sister, Mrs. Minnie Wyatt of St. Maurice; and three grandchildren.
