The deceased was a logger, a native of Atlanta, and a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral rites were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Teal and Rev. G. P. McManus officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery near Atlanta, under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Winnfield. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Moees Barton, Atlanta, three sons, Charlie Barton, Randall Barton, and Jerry Dale Barton, three brothers, Wilmer Barton, Blanchard Barton, and Leroy Barton, all of Atlanta, three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Hanson of Atlanta, Mrs. Jewel Terrel and Mrs. Willie Folden, of Winnfield, and his father, Bud Barton of Atlanta. Pallbearers were W. C. Barton, Troy Hanson, J. T. Hanson, R. L. Hanson, Melvin Horne, and W. T. Bartley.
