D. C. Barr Charles Barr, 42, son of Rev. D. C. Barr, one of the oldest and best known Methodist ministers in Louisiana and one time pastor of the local Methodist church, died at a Monroe sanitarium Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock, of internal injuries sustained Sunday, July 22, while engaged in laying a gas line near Sterlington. Funeral services were held at the family residence in Monroe at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon with Rev. W. C. Scott, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Monroe, Rev. R. W. Vaughan, superintendent of the Methodist Orphanage at Ruston, and Rev. H. C. Carley, presiding elder of the Monroe district, in charge. Interment was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery. Mr. Barr is survived by his wife and one daughter, Miss Kitty Barr. His father, Rev. D. C. Barr, also survives. Surviving sisters are Mrs. S. M. Abel, Rochelle; Mrs. W. O. Files, Oak Ridge; Mrs. John M. Brothers, Monroe; Mrs. Minnie Calder, San Antonio; and Mrs. Berta Bondy, San Antonio.
