John W. Barrett, 69, Dies; Rites Held Saturday

John W. Barrett, 69, died April 11 in a local hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Barrett was a carpenter and a native of Winn Parish.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Laurel Heights
Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Joe Mercer, Rev. W. C. Grice, and Rev.
Harrell officiating.

Interment was in Garden of Memories Cemetery under direction of Southern
Funeral Home.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ollie Camp Barrett of Winnfield, a son,
Alvin J. Barrett of Houston, Texas, two daughters, Mrs. Ida Mae Andrews of
Baton Rouge, Mrs. Loyce Mitchell of Baton Rouge, 11 grandchildren and three
great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Otis Barnett, Clyde Barnett, Junior Barnett, Claude Eubanks,
Marvin Eubanks, Preston Eubanks, all nephews of the deceased.
