Bartley, 69, of Winnfield, died Sunday, April 28, 1968 in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Bartley was a deacon in the Big Creek Baptist Church and was retired from the Tremont Lumber Company. He was a 32nd Degree Mason. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Big Creek Baptist Church near Winnfield with the Rev. Jackie Aymond officiating, assisted by Rev. Alson Jeter and the Rev. Willis Russell. Burial was in the Jordan Hill Cemetery near Winnfield. Masonic graveside rites were conducted. Survivors include his widow; one son, Stacy Lavelle Bartley of Winnfield; one daughter, Miss Betty Jean Bartley of Baton Rouge; four brothers, Clifford Bartley, Winn Parish Sheriff's deputy, Wade Bartley and Walter Bartley, all of Winnfield; and Charlie Bartley of Jena; one half-brother, Julius Hudson of Jonesboro; three sisters, Mrs. Rhoda Jordan, Mrs. Florence Williams, and Mrs. Margie Antley, all of Winnfield; and two grandchildren.
