O. Bass Funeral Is Held At Laurel Heights Funeral services for Mrs. Serena Bass, who died February 11 in a Shreveport hospital, were held Sunday at Laurel Heights Baptist Church here. Mrs. Bass, 50, died following an operation. Services here were at 3 p.m., conducted by the Laurel Heights pastor, Rev. Waynon H. Mott. Burial was in Winnfield Cemetery. Mrs. Bass was a member of the Laurel Heights Church and of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband, B. O. Bass of Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. Lesker Bates of Winnfield; two sons, Stanley Bass and Hayward Bass, both of Winnfield; two brothers, L. A. Butler of West Monroe and G. M. Butler of Iraq; one sister, Mrs. L. L. Hislop of West Monroe; mother, Mrs. George Butler and step father, George Butler, of West Monroe. Active pallbearers were Winnfield Coaches Bill Davis, Stanley Catha, Max Crowe, and Odell Rigdon, Virgil Barton and R. L. Terry. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Terrill, Jimmy Howard, Neal Wagoner, Hershel Machen, Jerry Miller, and Dale Reeves.
