William L. Bass Dies At Home In Grayson Jan. 5

Funeral services for William L. "Sam" Bass, 65 years, who died at his home in
the Grayson community late Wednesday after suffering a heart attack, will be
held at the Welcome Home Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Friday, January 7.  Burial
will be in Welcome Home Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.
Other arrangements for the last rites had not been completed Thursday
afternoon.

Mr. Bass, who was born in Grant Parish in 1884, had lived for many years in
Winn Parish.  He was a retired blacksmith and farmer and was a member of the
Baptist Church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Casimir Bass of Grayson, one daughter, Mrs.
R. J. Brown of Winnfield, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
