Clinton L. Bates Dies; Rites At Bethlehem

Clinton L. Bates, 76, of Winnfield, died at 4 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 1976 in
his home.

Survivors include one son, Charles "Buddy" Bates of Winnfield; one daughter,
Mrs. Bernice Weeks of Calvin; five brothers, A. W. Bates, Earl Bates, George
Bates, Henry Bates, and Clarence Bates, all of Winnfield; three sisters,
Mrs. Emma Simmons of Calvin, Mrs. Ruth Key of Winnfield, and Mrs. Clara Foster
of Shreveport, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Bethlehem Baptist Church with Revs.
Wilmer Jordan and Ernie Yocum officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery
under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
