Mother of Mrs. Melton Rowell Dies In Jamestown

Mrs. Fannie H. Bates, 88, West Monroe, died Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock
following a short illness, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eugenia Poland,
Jamestown, La.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of
Mrs. Poland with the Rev. Mr. Valentine, pastor of the First Baptist Church,
Ringgold, officiating.  Interment will follow in Sparta Cemetery under the
direction of Hall Funeral Home.

Mrs. Bates is survived by two sons, M. M. Bates, West Monroe, and Wilson
Bates, Bienville; four daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Gregory, Bienville, Mrs. Melton
Rowell, Winnfield, Mrs. Joe Hamm and Mrs. Poland, Jamestown; and a number of
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
