D. Brister, 77, Retired Forester, Dies B. D. Brister, 77, of Sikes, died Friday afternoon, September 3, 1971 in the Winnfield General Hospital. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Bernice officiating, assisted by Rev. Edward Smith and Rev. M. F. Walker. Burial was in the church cemetery directed by Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Mr. Brister was a native of Winn Parish, a retired state forester, and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nettie Brister of Sikes; three sons, Lester Brister and J. D. Brister, both of Sikes, and Delmas Brister of West Monroe; a daughter, Mrs. Elmer Martin, Jr. of Winter Park, Fla.; five brothers, Homer Brister of Choudrant, Houston Brister and J. W. Brister, both of ______, Lawson Brister of Quitman, and Carl Brister of West Monroe; six sisters, Mrs. Alton Willis of Sikes, Mrs. Jettie Hann of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Ellen Walding of ______, Mrs. Loren Gray of Alexandria, and Mrs Bernice Dyess of Pineville; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
