H. Beasley of S. Winnfield I. H. Beasley, 60, retired carpenter, died at his home in South Winnfield Sunday, June 20, 1948, after a short illness. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at the family residence with Rev. Alwin Stokes, Rev. Larry Molang, and Rev. C. M. Robinson officiating. Burial was in the Old Smith Cemetery near West Monroe. A native of Arkansas, Mr. Beasley first moved to Ouachita, then Jackson Parish, and then to Winn Parish in 1920, where he has since resided. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Zeal Clark Beasley, Winnfield; three daughters, Mrs. T. D. Fletcher, New Verda; Mrs. L. J. Schanks, West Monroe; and Mrs. Dan Young, Gorhamtown; one son, Isaac Gordon Beasley, Roanoke, Va.; one foster son, Johnny Richard Clifton; one brother, Steve Beasley, DeQuincy, La.; one sister, Mrs. Viola Morgan, Rochelle; his mother in law, Mrs. Bertie Clark; step mother, three half sisters and one half brother.
