L. Beck To Be Friday, 2 p.m. Mrs. J. L. Beck, 72, long time resident of Winnfield, died in a local hospital at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday after a brief illness. She was a native of Calhoun, La., and was a faithful member of Laurel Heights Baptist Church. Last rites will be conducted at the Laurel Heights Baptist Church Friday, March 23, at 2 p.m., with the pastor, Revs. C. C. Martin and Willie James officiating. Burial will be in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Nephews will act as pallbearers. Surviving are two sons, W. J. Beck and J. L. Beck, Winnfield; two daughters, Ms. O. K. Connor, Winnfield, and Mrs. J. C. Allbritton, Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; three brothers, E. O. Barnes, Calhoun, La., Jim Barnes, West Monroe, F. E. Barnes, Okmulgee, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Fannie Teddington, Mrs. Florine Spillers, and Mrs. Melba Spillers, all of Calhoun, La.
