Last Rites Held in Jena Nov. 8 for R. S. Beck

Funeral services for R. S. Beck, 82, of Jena, former resident of the Beech
Creek community in Winn Parish and father of the late Eugene Beck, Sr., of
Winnfield, were held at the Fellowship Baptist Church near Jena at 10 a.m.,
Monday, Nov. 8.  Interment was in the Belah Cemetery.

Mr. Beck died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in Jena, Sunday.  He was
born in Mississippi in 1866 and moved to Louisiana at an early age.  For many
years the family resided in the Beech Creek community in Winn Parish.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. J. R. Hinton and Mrs. Annie Kirkham of
Olla, and Mrs. Ola Taylor of Jena; one son, Marvin E. Beck of Port Neches,
Texas.  Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
