All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: December 28, 1933 Winn Parish Enterprise Porter Bedgood Of Goldonna Shot By Will Joiner Currie Rowell Will Lose Sight of Right Eye, Attendants Say Goldonna, Dec. 24 - Because he did not heed warnings to "stay away from the Joiner place," Porter Bedgood, about 23, is dead of gunshot wounds; his 18 year old friend, Currie Rowell, is in the Charity Hospital in Shreveport, where attendants said that he would lose the sight of his right eye, and Will Joiner, about 25, son of Dr. L. M. Joiner, Goldonna physician, is in the Natchitoches Parish jail for questioning. The shooting occurred late Saturday when the three and Bedgood's brother, "Bootsie" Bedgood, met while enroute to a Christmas dance. The shooting occurred is was said after Bedgood had been warned to keep away from the Joiner place. Currie Rowell was brought to Winnfield by Will Black, former deputy sheriff, for treatment after the shooting, but Sunday afternoon was conveyed to the charity hospital in Shreveport.
