All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: June 5, 1947 Winn Parish Enterprise Funeral Services For Asa Bell, 69, Held On Monday Funeral services for Asa Bell, 69, who died in a Pineville hospital Sunday, June 1, were held at the Methodist Church here at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon, June 2, with the Rev. Alwin Stokes, Rev. H. H. McBride, and Rev. Fred S. Flurry officiating. Burial was in the Urica Cemetery at Montgomery. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Julia Jafferion Bell; two daughters, Mrs. Lester Dickerson of Winnfield and Mrs. Roline Palmer of New Orelans, four grandchildren, James Asa, Barbara Jean, Gordon Edwin Dickerson, and Billy Palmer. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Bell was a native of Grant Parish and had lived at Montgomery for many years. He was a retired merchant and had a host of friends in this section of the State. Pallbearers were his nephews: Floyd, Felix, Marion, Kenneth, Kelly, and Lawrence Bell. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. E. P. LaLande, A. K. Jafferion and daughter, Cora Dean of Moreauville; Mrs. J. Bell and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Bell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bell, Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Bell, Lawrence Bell, Felix Bell, Kenneth Bell, Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Bell, Mrs. Ione Ray, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Rabalais, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Rabalais, all of Alexandria; Dr. and Mrs. Henry Rushing, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Rushing of El Dorado, Ark.; Mrs. Lillie Lonadier and son, Milton and daughter, Viola, Mrs. Henry McKeithen and children of Arcadia; Mr. and Mrs. Edgar McGee of Montgomery; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Howell and Mrs. Jack Henderson of Shreveport; Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Bell of Atlanta, La., and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Green of Lake Charles.
