Raymond Bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bell of Jena and brother of Mrs. Kenny Sheppard of Winnfield, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 12, in the Pine Grove Church in Jena with the Rev. Morlan Doughty officiating. Reburial services were in the Rhinehart Cemetery. Pvt. Bell lost his life in the battle of Normandy Beach when Europe was first invaded by the Allies. Accompanied by military escort the body arrived in Georgetown last Thursday. Besides his parents, Pvt. Bell is survived by five brothers and five sisters. They are: Willard, Orville, and Beverley of Jena, Bill Bell, Wildsville and Rayford Bell, U. S. Army; Mrs. T. G. Bradford, Jena, Mrs. Kenny Sheppard, Winnfield, Mrs. P. H. Poole, Jena, Mrs. Lew Futrell, Alexandria, and Mrs. Clayton Tullos, Wyoming.
