Bell, Father of Mrs. G. A. Payne, Dies Last Thursday William Shelby Bell, age 79 yers, died at his home in Simsboro, April___, 1929 following an illness of several months. Mr. Bell was born in Alabama December 15, 1850. In _______ he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Nesmith also of Alabama and to this union nine children were born, only three of whom survive him. At the age of 33 years Mr. Bell joined with the Baptist Church and for 46 years lived a consecrated and ___________ Christian life. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, April 13 at the Walnut Creek Church by Dr. J. R. Edwards, a lifelong friend of the deceased, with interment in the Walnut Creek Cemetery. Surviving the deceased are his wife, Mrs. W. S. Bell, two daughters, Mrs. G. A. Payne of Winnfield, Mrs. J. L. Payne of Urania, one son, Dr. J. E. Bell of Sour Lake, Texas, and eight grandchildren: Lansing, George Bell, and Willie G. Payne, John Bell, Mrs. D. C. Warner, of Winnfield, Mrs. C. C. Pate of Magnolia, Ark., Miss Eugenia and Wendell Payne of Urania.
