Remains of Honored Citizen of Winnfield Laid to Rest. The funeral of Mr. Philip Bernstein, who died at his home in Winnfield, La., Friday morning, took place at Pineville this morning, and was largely attended, many sorrowing friends and relatives from a distance attending. Mr. Bernstein was a gallant Confederate veteran, and for many years was a prominent citizen and successful business man of Winnfield. Deceased was the father of Mrs. Marcus Kaliski and Messrs Henry and Arnold Bernstein, of Monroe, who left yesterday for Winnfield immediately on receipt of the sad news. Their numerous friends here extend heartfelt sympathy in this, their hour of bereavement.
