All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: February 22, 1951 Winnfield News-American or Winn Parish Enterprise Bob Bethea Dies At 72 in Baton Rouge Hospital Feb. 21 Funeral services were held in a Baton Rouge Methodist Church Thursday for Bob Bethea, 72, former well known Winnfield businessman and salesman who died in the Lady of the Lake hospital early Wednesday morning. Burial was in a Baton Rouge cemetery. Survivors include three sons, Cyril and Wayne Bethea of Houston, Texas, and J. W. Bethea of Baton Rouge, and a daughter, Mrs. Janet Martin of Houston, Texas. The deceased, a native of Arkadelphia, Ark., came to Winn Parish as commissary manager for the Bodcaw Lumber Company. Later he owned and operated the old Winn Mercantile Company located at the present site of the Milam's Home Furniture Store. Still later he was a salesman for the Case Cutlery Company for some 27 years. He had resided in Baton Rouge for the past 14 years.
