Lee Bishop, 76 years of age, were held at Jerusalem Monday afternoon at four o'clock. The Rev. W. D. Sherwood of Sardis and the Rev. Ellis Smith, pastor Winnfield Methodist Church, had charge of the services. Mr. Bishop died Sunday night at 8:30 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jack Dickerson, after a week's serious illness. He had been in failing health for some time. Mr. Bishop was born in Union County, Arkansas. He has been a resident of Winn Parish about thirty years. He was first married to Miss Mary Tatum of Stamps, Arkansas. To this union five children were born. After the death of his first wife, he married Miss Abbie Roberts of Mississippi. She preceded him in death two years ago. Mr. Bishop was a logging contractor. The children surviving are: Mrs. Jack Dickerson, Winnfield; Mrs. H. L. Dickerson, Sardis; Jesse Bishop, Hodge; and Mack Bishop, Jonesboro. Also one sister, Mrs. D. F. Kendrick, Farmerville, La., and one brother, Marshall Bishop, of Smackover, Arkansas. A host of grandchildren and great grandchildren survive.
