R. Bishop Of Montgomery N. R. Bishop, 72 years, 3 months, and 11 days of age, died at his home in Montgomery, April 27, 1944. Funeral services were conducted at the Union Hill Baptist Church of which the deceased was a member. Officiating at the last rites were the Rev. W. M. Holland, the Rev. Ernest Evans, the Rev. Joe Martin, the Rev. Mrs. Wardlow, and the Rev. Jack Shaw. Born in Newton County, Miss., in 1872, he came to Louisiana and settled in the Montgomery community. He was a progressive farmer and a leading citizen of his community and state. Until his health failed he was a deacon and an active member of his church. Survivging are his wife, Mrs. Maude Stacks Bishop; two daughters, Mrs. Austin Cardozier and Mrs. Morgan Dyson; two sons, Johnny Bishop and Ollie Bishop, all of Montgomery; two brothers, Jim Bishop of Connehatta, Miss., and Lindsey Bishop of Lyon, Miss.
