All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: December 29, 1949 Winn Parish Enterprise Logger Found Dead at His Home Dec. 12 Robert Lee Blagg, 53, logger in this section for 24 years, was found dead in his bed late Monday, Dec. 12, by Shep Ray and Melvin McQuiddy, who made their hom with hiim in a small structure near the Creosote Plant. Dr. Rodgers, deputy coroner, reported that the man had been dead for a number of hours, death due to natural causes, according to information from the sheriff's office. Funeral services were held at the parlors of Southern Funeral Home Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Fred Flurry officiating. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery. The deceased was an employee of Thomas B. Plunkett, local logging contractor. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Tony Barron and two grandchildren of LaMesa, Texas; his father, T. H. Blagg of El Dorado, Ark.
