C. Blake In Jonesboro Former Resident of Winnfield Succumbs Here Sunday Mrs. I. C. Blake of Jonesboro, the former Miss Eunice Parker of Winnfield, died in a Winnfield clinic Sunday morning, following an illness of some time. Mrs. Blake was brought here Thursday from a Shreveport sanitarium after her condition had been declared hopeless. Funeral services were conducted Monday morning in the Jonesboro Baptist Church with the Rev. B. C. Land and the Rev. Alwin Stokes, of Winnfield, Rev. J. W. Buckner of Jonesboro, and Rev. J. D. Kitchingham of Columbia officiating. Interment was in the Jonesboro Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Mrs. Blake was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Parker of this city. She was born in Stamps, Ark., on April 30, 1909 and moved here at an early age. Graduating from the local school, she attended the Louisiana State Normal College and taught in the Winnfield and Calvin schools. She was married to Mr. Clinton Blake of Calvin in 1932 and they later made their home in Jonesboro where he is engaged in business. Mrs. Blake was active in church work and was a member of the Jonesboro Baptist Church. She had a host of friends in Winn and Jackson Parishes. Surviving are her husband and one young son, Daniel Burton; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Parker and two sisters, Helen and Edith Parker of Winnfield; two brothers, Samuel Parker of Shreveport and Bennie Parker of Pensacola, Florida.
