Sam Blake Funeral Held At Harmony Grove

Funeral services for Sam Blake, 84, who died while on a visit at the home of
his daughter, Mrs. Garland Rice, in El Dorado, Ark., June 15, 1948, were held
at the Harmony Grove Baptist Church, Gaars Mill, Thursday with the Rev. Troy
Kelly officiating.

Mr. Blake, a retired farmer, moved to Winnfield from Calvin about three years
ago.  Surviving are his wife and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Rice,
El Dorado; Mrs. Ernest Lingo, Mrs. Bertha Singleton, and Mrs. P. W. Kelly,
Dallas; Mrs. Lake Hall and Ples Blake of Greenville, Texas; Garland Blake,
Mrs. Clotile Rogers, Mrs. Jesse Gunter, and Mrs. Howard Owen, all of Oakland,
Calif.
