Mrs. Doyle Blake Dies From Spinal Meningitis Jan. 1

Funeral services for Mrs. Doyle Blake, 20 some odd years of age, who died in a
Shreveport hospital last Saturday from spinal meningitis, were held at Yankee
Springs, Ward 10, Sunday.

Mrs. Blake, who with her husband and two children, had come from Texas to
spend the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. Blake, of Ward 10, became
critically ill Wednesday of last week.  She was given treatment by a Winnfield
physician who sent her to Shreveport, where her case was verified as spinal
meningitis.

She is survived by her husband, who is in the army and is stationed at Camp
Hood, Texas; two children, and her parents who reside near Saline.
