Funeral services were held at Yankee Springs Baptist Church Wednesday, March 18, at 11 o'clock with the Rev. R. B. Kitchingham of Dodson, and the Rev. N. T. Smith of Calvin, officiating. Interment was in Yankee Springs Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Pallbearers were six of her grandsons, Wesley Peterson, Doyle Blake, Erry Smeltzer, Harmon Peterson, Robert Blake, W. A. Peterson. Mrs. Blake joined the church at an early age and at the time of her death was a member of the Yankee Springs Baptist Church. Before her marriage to Mason Blake, she was Miss Rilla Box. Her husband preceded her in death by 18 years. She was the mother of 16 children, 12 of whom survive. They are W. R., T. C. and Isom Blake of Goldonna, Route 1; P. J., Mason, and Tommy Blake of Springhill; Mrs. Moses Durbin and Mrs. Charlie Dean of Goldonna; Mrs. C. B. Carter, Rt. 4, Winnfield; Mrs. Lou Peterson, Springhill; Mrs. John Martin, Natchitoches; Miss Puebla Blake, Pineville. She also leaves one brother, Gordie Box, Powhattan, La.; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Cockerham, Texas; 46 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
