Bolton Held On Monday Colonel George W. Bolton, 89, a former resident of Winnfield, died at his home in Alexandria, August 2, after several months of failing health. He was a native of Georgia, but came to Louisiana with his parents in infancy. After the Civil War, in which he served as a Confederate soldier, he became a merchant in Pineville, retiring from business in 1900. He assisted in the organization of the Rapides Bank and was its president for many years. At the time of his death he was chairman of the board of directors of the Rapides Bank and Trust Company. Funeral services were held Monday. Col. Bolton is survived by six children.
