Bolton, a former Olin Matheson mill employee, had been in ill health for about a year. He was stricken while walking up Main Street in the vicinity of Long's Barber Shop. He sat down on a bench outside the shop and then walked across the street, motioning for help to the colored shoe shine man inside. While the shine man was attempting to help, Bolton died. Funeral services are scheduled Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Morning Star Baptist Church. He leaves his wife, Cora Bolton, of Winnfield.
