Ramon L. Bowen

Services for Ramon L. Bowen of Dallas, Texas were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday,
April 18, at Restland Abbey Chapel in Dallas with the Rev. Bob C. Moss
officiating and interment following at Restland Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Bowen, 79, died Friday, April 19, 1987 at a Plano, Texas hospital
following a long illness.

While residing in Winnfield, Ramon Bowen had assisted in the 1960s with
installing in Winn Parish one of the La. pilot programs for distributing food
stamps for the needy.  He also served briefly as Registrar of Voters.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Frazier Bowen of Dallas; one son, C.
Michael Bowen of Dallas; two daughters, Beth Walters of Shreveport, and Ramona
Napier of Dallas; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; also three
sisters, Mrs. Hallie B. Carter now of El Paso, Eleanor Oma of Dallas, and Miss
Rubye Bowen of Winnfield.
